5 Concerns that Your Clients WILL Bring Up

As an ORM professional, it's your role to understand our industry's shortcomings and operate with passion and integrity.

Many clients will tell you about an SEO/ORM scam that they've fallen for, so it's no surprise that some people may have reservations.

Expect These Concerns:

1) "Clients will not fill this out. Lovely idea, but there are far too many steps."

Possible Responses:

  • Change can be scary, but change is progressive. The world of online marketing is only expanding.
  • The system is 2 steps more than 1, but it's not neurosurgery. Teach CSR to effectively communicate the process to customers and the rest is cake.
    • BrandLoyal provides a walkthrough document to circumvent any confusion.

2) No Surprise Here: "It's a Scam."

Possible Responses:

  • I swear, I'm different! Simple, absolutely, but effective if your actions reflect your word. Share your knowledge and build trust.
    • Communicate that ORM/SEO is not a short-term Band-Aid fix, and walk the client through your mission and vision.
  • Recommend popular webinars and blogs to the client for verification of information.

3) "I Just Can't Justify the Price Point."

Possible Responses:

  • Traditional Marketing is far more expensive than implementing an ORM system.
    • ORM will become substantially more important in coming years
    • ROI is easy to track with Google analytics
  • The cost is much less than hiring a FT marketing representative.
  • ORM alone improvements can give a brand a facelift.

4) "Does Canceling an ORM System Mean an Immediate Decrease in Star Rating?"

Possible Responses:

  • If business operations have not changed since implementation, a decrease is probable.
    • Clients must realize that a poor online presence is usually reflective of internal issues and poor customer experience.
    • Thus, with an ORM system implemented, businesses can revamp strategy while increasing star rating for sustainability.

5) "We're Not Seeing Improvements Fast Enough."

Possible Responses:

  • Consistency is crucial in ORM. It's a process and an effective one at that. Secure and substantial results are a product of time and effort.
  • Fast results are not long-term results. An immediate jump in star rating is almost always due to shady business. Google's algorithm will filter these results and remove them.
    • Most ORM businesses will estimate 4-6 months for noticeable results, but these improvements are usually permanent.
